The Report Line

A captain calls one number after the trip and says how it went. Fish City turns that call into a published report: in the app, on the boat's website, and here on fishcity.app.

For anglers: reports in the captain's own voice

Fish counts tell you what came over the rail. A call-in report tells you the rest: the conditions, the grade of fish, what the captain thinks tomorrow looks like.

Hear it in the app

Call-in reports land in the Fish City feed next to the counts, tagged to the boat and landing they came from.

Listen or read

Every report comes with captions and a written version, so you can check it from the office without headphones.

Straight from the source

No paraphrasing, no third-hand dock rumor. The captain who ran the trip tells you how it went, in their own voice.

FOR CAPTAINS AND LANDINGS

One call from the dock. Your report, everywhere.

You already give the report on the radio and at the dock. Give it once more on the way in and Fish City publishes it for anglers deciding where to fish next: in the app, on your boat's website, and here on fishcity.app. Free for verified operators.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Call the Report Line

Call (619) 535-FISH when you get back to the dock, or between trips. One number for every verified operator.

  2. Step 2

Say it like you would on the radio

How the fishing was, what you were on, what the plan is tomorrow. Hang up when you are done. That is the whole job.

  3. Step 3

    We publish it everywhere

Your report posts to the Fish City app, your Fish City partner website, and fishcity.app. No typing, no login, no app open.

What you get

Nothing to type, nothing to log into

You call from the cell number we set up for you. No app to open, no form, no password.

Three places from one call

The Fish City app feed, your Fish City partner website, and fishcity.app, tagged to your boat and landing.

Your voice, your words

Anglers hear you say it. Captions and a written transcript ride along for the ones reading at a desk.

Anglers find your boat

Every report links to your boat page on Fish City, where anglers see your trips and how to book.

Run a landing?

Landings call in too. Your report posts to your landing page on Fish City, next to the counts anglers already check. Same setup, same email.

Questions captains ask

Does it cost anything?
No. The Report Line is free for verified operators. Pro tools for your operation are priced separately on the pricing page.
What do I need?
A phone and a verified listing. We set up the cell number you call from, so nobody else can post a report as you.
Do I have to do anything after I hang up?
No. Say how it went, hang up, and that is the whole job.
Can anglers read it instead of listening?
Yes. Every report comes with captions and a written transcript.

The Report Line is one piece. Fish City also builds and keeps your website current, turns a dockside QR into followers, and pushes them when a seat opens.
