Fisherman's Landing sits at 2838 Garrison Street on Point Loma and is home to much of San Diego's long-range fleet. Its founder, William E. "Bill" Poole (1922–2009), was inducted into the California Outdoors Hall of Fame and is credited with having "constructed numerous vessels for San Diego's local and long-range fishing fleets" plus having "hired, trained, and mentored prominent Pacific Coast skippers." By the late 1960s Poole was already a part-owner of Fisherman's Landing, Seaforth Sportfishing, Sun Harbor Marina, and Marina Cortez.

Fleet

The 2026 fleet includes the Constitution, Dolphin, Fortune, Islander, Liberty, Pacific Dawn (Captain Mike Loust), Pacific Queen, Pegasus, Poseidon, Shogun, and Tomahawk for local and offshore trips, plus the long-range vessels Excel, Royal Polaris, Royal Star, and the Searcher (Captain Mike Todter), with trip lengths running up to 16 days.

Pricing

Posted 2026 pricing on the landing's booking system: half-day trips $77.63, overnight trips $414–$574.43, and 2–3 day trips $719–$1,293.75.

Recent reports

On April 20, 2026 the Shogun "returned this morning with a really good catch of bluefin tuna, and yellowtail"; the Pacific Queen's April 19 3-day trip brought in "3 day limits of bluefin tuna (all daytime fish) 4 mahi and we're up to 80+ on the yellowtail today"; and the Dolphin's April 22 half-day produced 45 rockfish, 15 sculpin, 11 sand bass, 4 halibut, 1 sheephead, and 1 lingcod for 21 anglers. Year-to-date 2026 totals from the landing show 240 bluefin tuna, 4,259 rockfish, and 1,982 barred sand bass.

Reviews
