Rating
4.1★ (141 TripAdvisor)

Seaforth Sportfishing has been "operating deep sea charters since 1960" from 1717 Quivira Road in San Diego's Mission Bay. The landing began as "a local ½-day and ¾-day landing" and expanded into offshore and multi-day trips over the following decades. Bill Poole — later memorialized in the California Outdoors Hall of Fame — was a part-owner of Seaforth, Fisherman's Landing, Sun Harbor Marina, and Marina Cortez by the late 1960s.

The current fleet runs 15 listed vessels. Core boats include:

  • New Seaforth — half-day and twilight (captains Brian Castleton and Sean McQuerry)

  • Sea Watch — 3/4-day (captain Kris Karpow)

Reviews

JonathanArad (September 13, 2023) wrote of a 1.5-day Tribute charter that "the captain is incredibly skilled and will put you on tuna — a lot of tuna." Septer of Miami Beach (October 2024) noted on an offshore tuna trip that "the whole crew was friendly, and most of the other anglers were supportive team players."
